It is the mission of North American Analytical to offer the scientific services required to identify and ascertain in a percentage value, the most crucial compounds as they relate to the medicinal components of cannabis and provide them for labeling.
Determination of Cannabinol - Pharmacologically, the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the most widely used psychoactive drug in the United States. THC is only one of 400 compounds in the plant, including other cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabinol (CBN). Consumption of cannabis has both psychoactive and physiological effects.
The minimum amount of THC required to have a perceptible psychoactive effect is about 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight.
