We will be offering this event on select weekends in addition to our regularly scheduled weekday dates. A lot of new regulatory information and job opportunities will be discussed as Nevada's Adult Use Marijuana sales continue to climb.
Our FREE INFORMATION SESSION is hosted by industry professionals and includes an informative presentation that covers state laws, license types, employment requirements and job opportunities. Although this course is FREE to attend, plan on receiving a wealth of knowledge you can use to further advance your endeavors in the cannabis industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with our instructor and sign up for upcoming job training courses. WHY SHOULD I ATTEND? Nevada law requires employees (agents) of a Marijuana Establishment (ME) to be trained and receive a state issued work card. We will go through the Agent Card Application process step-by-step and answer any questions you may have about the packet. So far 6,700 people are employed in Nevada's cannabis industry. We expect that number to double by 2019. HOW DO I RSVP? To RSVP, please register on this eventbrite page. Select a date and 1 hour time slot that works with your schedule. The information session usually lasts 30-45 minutes. For questions, please email [email protected] or call 702-NLV-WEED (658-9333). HOW CAN I GET PREPARED FOR THIS EVENT? Start the Marijuana Work Cards process by visiting a Livescan approved fingerprinting agency to get your passport photos and background check complete. The agency will provide you with a completed "Fingerprint Submission Form" you will bring to the info session. There is a cost of $100 to complete this step that you will pay to the Fingerprinting Agency. We recommend Fingerprinting Pros on Sahara and Maryland, next to Inyo Cannabis Dispensary and Smiths Shopping Center. FAQs Do I get a certificate for attending? No, this is a FREE INFORMATION SESSION, not a training and certification course. If you choose to register and pay for a Trim Ready certification course then you will receive a certificate. You also will be added to our list of graduates and will receive emails regarding job placement. We do recommend that graduates update their resume and cover letter to include their most recent certification under the education/skills section. Does my certification work in other states? Yes, TRIM READY™ certifications are accepted as professional achievements/technical training in most marijuana legal states and any state we do business in. (Nevada, California, Hawaii and Florida). After graduation, please follow the proper steps of updating your resume and cover letter so we can be reached in case your employer is requesting a verification or vocational reference. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? There is no age requirement to attend the course, although the state you choose to work in might have age restrictions on working in a licensed cannabis facility. Your ticket can be transferred to another date. Can I update my registration information? Yes, either through the eventbrite website or by contacting Trim Ready.
