Since the legalization of cannabis in Colorado in 2014, Medicinal Mindfulness has been leading group psychedelic experiences that are safe, legal and deeply transformative. Participants experience firsthand the true psychedelic nature of this humble plant ally. Most participants describe them as very similar to MDMA/Psilocybin or even like 2-3 hour Ayahuasca journeys. Just because cannabis journeys are shorter than other psychedelics, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re less intense. The primary difference is a greater sense of agency and safety, with all of the benefits of other psychedelic medicine experiences.

Ryan Bondhus : The Dispensary CannaSomm

Ryan was born in Colorado Springs, CO but left with his family when he was very young. Ryan and his family moved to Coquimbo, Chile for a brief time before Ryan found himself in Las Vegas. Ryan became a professional dancer and model for about six years after arriving in Nevada. After touring the world, Ryan decided to reside in Las Vegas; focusing on building roots and setting down. Ryan began working for a fine dining restaurant in Las Vegas and became, what those who know him would call, obsessed with cannabis. Combining his gaining knowledge from years of wine classes, with his increasing years of cannabis tasting, reviewing and cultivating landed him the name “the Canna Somm”.

In 2009 Ryan landed a job with Jolly Green Meds, a premier cannabis dispensary. This Las Vegas dispensary was raided and Ryan was arrested in the process with 5 other cannabis workers later named, “the J.G.M. Six”. During the next four years while the case was going on Ryan continued his patient grow and studied everything about cannabis from lineage, law, cultivation and advocacy. Taking his love of the arts Ryan accepted an apprenticeship as a tattoo artist and was able to freely work and continue seeking rare and fine cannabis. During this time Ryan received a call from his attorney that would change his life. His case was dismissed. It was finally over.

Taking everything he learned over his life Ryan the Canna Somm began looking for his spot in the one industry he loves. Cannabis. Along with his wife and cannabis figure Addie Martin they started what became a popular YouTube show called Bake N Wake Review carrying multiple sponsors and networks. This duo was later picked up by The Dispensary group which is where they can be found today.

Course Instructor: Kurt Duchac of Top Notch Healing Center. Top Notch is a licensed dispensary in Las Vegas that is selling both medical and recreational marijuana. Kurt is also a founding member of WECAN, the leading patient advocacy organization in Nevada.

Our FREE INFORMATION SESSION is hosted by industry professionals and includes an informative presentation that covers state laws, license types, employment requirements and job opportunities. Although this course is FREE to attend, plan on receiving a wealth of knowledge you can use to further advance your endeavors in the cannabis industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with our instructor and sign up for upcoming job training courses.

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND? Nevada law requires employees (agents) of a Marijuana Establishment (ME) to be trained and receive a state issued work card. We will go through the Agent Card Application process step-by-step and answer any questions you may have about the packet. So far 6,700 people are employed in Nevada's cannabis industry. We expect that number to double by 2019.

HOW CAN I GET PREPARED FOR THIS EVENT? Start the Marijuana Work Cards process by visiting a Livescan approved fingerprinting agency to get your passport photos and background check complete. The agency will provide you with a completed "Fingerprint Submission Form" you will bring to the info session. There is a cost of $100 to complete this step that you will pay to the Fingerprinting Agency. We recommend Fingerprinting Pros on Sahara and Maryland, next to Inyo Cannabis Dispensary and Smiths Shopping Center.

FAQs

Do I get a certificate for attending?

No, this is a FREE INFORMATION SESSION, not a training and certification course. If you choose to register and pay for a Trim Ready certification course then you will receive a certificate. You also will be added to our list of graduates and will receive emails regarding job placement. We do recommend that graduates update their resume and cover letter to include their most recent certification under the education/skills section.

Does my certification work in other states?

Yes, TRIM READY™ certifications are accepted as professional achievements/technical training in most marijuana legal states and any state we do business in. (Nevada, California, Hawaii and Florida). After graduation, please follow the proper steps of updating your resume and cover letter so we can be reached in case your employer is requesting a verification or vocational reference.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There is no age requirement to attend the course, although the state you choose to work in might have age restrictions on working in a licensed cannabis facility.
