Event Description:
Conversations on Cannabis is a virtual forum brought to you by the Medical Marijuana Education and Research Initiative (MMERI) at Florida A&M University (FAMU).
This Facebook Live event is designed to foster a safe space for you to learn and talk frankly about cannabis.
There’s a nationwide push to help veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) gain legal access to cannabis as a medical treatment. A bipartisan bill was recently filed in Congress and the first FDA-regulated study on cannabis use by veterans showed promising results.
Join the next Conversations on Cannabis virtual forum on Thursday, July 22 at noon to learn and talk with Cherissa Jackson, the Chief Medical Executive for AMVETs, a national organization that advocates for veterans health and well-being.
Jackson, who calls herself “America’s Combat Nurse,” will talk about the organization’s efforts to educate veterans about the potential benefits of medical cannabis and her experience overcoming PTSD.
Forum Giveaways
When you sign up for this Conversations on Cannabis virtual forum, you will automatically be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card that will be given away at the end of the forum*.
Please be sure to complete our surveys to help us improve future programming and help MMERI better inform minority communities about medical marijuana and the impact of unlawful use of marijuana.
